ZARAMIA AVA In Yorkshire Evening Post for Smart Works Leeds Summer Fashion Sale

‘The event will take place over two days at the Corn Exchange, in association with The Yorkshire Post. On Friday, June 24, 6-9pm, there will be a special evening of shopping, with the chance to bag a bargain (or several) and browse rail after rail of beautiful womenswear pieces, including new collection pieces, designer samples, end-of-stock collections, premium quality donated pre-loved items and ranges of shoes and accessories, all donated to Smart Works by generous fashion industry benefactors, with premium retailers and fashion houses including Harvey Nichols Leeds, Joe Browns, Boden, Brora and many more. Smart Works national retail partners include Burberry, Hobbs, Marks & Spencer and John Lewis & Partners, and a number of top fashion designers silently donate (names will be revealed when the doors open).

There will also be many beautiful items on sale donated by Yorkshire independent designers and retailers, plus the chance to shop at pop-up shops hosted by a selection of Yorkshire-based brands. These pop-up shops will include Natalia Willmott, Robin Gifts, The Pod Online, Bo Carter, Satya En Ro bags, ZaraMia Ava and Glitter Glamour Boutique. There will be raffle prizes including: a Laura Pitharas silk bamboo dress costing £325; a Clockface Beauty hamper costing £85; a Harvey Nichols beauty hamper and eight different in-store beauty experiences; a beautiful dress and necklace from Natalia Willmott; a bag from Robin Gifts; a recycled Italian leather bag with removable and reusable inner linings, £395, from Satya En Ro; designs from Aurelie and Bo Carter. Plus there will be a free glass of fizz, celebrity guests, a raffle, a live choir, celebrity guests and the chance to mingle at what promises to be a highlight of the Yorkshire social calendar.’

I was living in Leeds when the Leeds-based fashion brand, ZARAMIA AVA popped onto The Apprentice in one of the tasks, so it was a pleasant experience to be able to dig deep into the nostalgia on this one a few years later. We hadn’t written about many fashion brands at the time, so this was a great opportunity for us. ‘Fashion’ has since gone on to become one of the most popular categories on our platform. Thanks, ZARAMIA AVA. We owe you big time.

To Conclude:

Like you, we have missed The Apprentice, and it’s a shame that the pandemic took it away from us for two years. But as with many other great things in life, it’s only when you lose them, that you realise how special they are, and the pandemic has been a stark, daily reminder of this, for many of us across the globe.

The Apprentice is prime-time television. It’s a cornerstone of British television. It’s about family time and entertainment, but most importantly, it’s about supporting small businesses, British businesses, and it’s about spreading those all-important business lessons across the nation, in a fun and entertaining way (that somehow seems to find it’s way into the unconscious).’

Calling all fashion lovers! The Smart Works Leeds Fashion Sale is here for our Autumn/Winter event to celebrate our 2nd birthday! 

Join us on Friday 12 November for an exciting evening of fizz, music and shopping at the beautiful Leeds Corn Exchange in the city centre with all proceeds coming to Smart Works Leeds.

Guests can expect designer, vintage and sample items from the most well known and sought-after brands - we've got your wardrobe sorted, all at incredibly discounted prices. This is guilt-free, sustainable shopping at its best with all proceeds going directly to supporting Smart Works Leeds; a UK charity which gives unemployed women from across Yorkshire the clothing and coaching they need to get the job and transform their lives.

Designers include: YSL, Prada, Alexander McQueen, Valentino, Marc Jacobs, Radley 

Brands include: Whistles, Jaeger, Hobbs, LK Bennett, French Connection, Ted Baker, Ellesse.

And so much more

We will also have stalls from popular local boutiques: Katie and May, Bo carter, ZARAMIA AVA, Glitter Glamour Boutique, Moon Must Vintage, The Pod Online and Katherine Manley

Tickets will permit you to enter from 6pm, and we will be shopping until 9pm. No worries if you fancy joining us later on in the evening, as there will still be plenty to shop as we re-stock every hour,  and there might even be a few extra discounts as we close...

Please note: no children under the age of 12 may enter the event. The event is downstairs in the Corn Exchange and accessed via stairs, though a lift will be available for wheelchair use. You will need to show your ticket to access the event space. All tickets are non-refundable.
